The Institute for Health Protection of students of the University of Pristina with temporary seat in Kosovska Mitrovica was officially opened today in the said city. On that occasion, Assistant Minister for Development and Higher Education, Ms. Vesna Mandić stated that the opening of Student’s polyclinic contributes to the overall growth of this part of the country.
The building material, adaptation material and the equipment for the new Student’s polyclinic was provided by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development, the Government of Serbia’s Office for Kosovo and Metohija and Student’s center “Priština”.
Mandić attended today the official opening along with the Deputy Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Mr. Željko Jović.
“Having in mind that the public procurement was announced in April, we were surprised to see how fast this project was carried out. The institutions of higher education have the opportunity to contribute to the development owning to a staff which would be employed at the polyclinic”, Mandić underscored.
She added that the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development allocated 83 million RSD for the development of study programs and that the call for applications, which was opened today, will remain active until September 30, 2017.
Jović said that the Student’s polyclinic represents yet another institution which will help us to defend our sovereignty and our rights.
“We will build twice as much, we will be stronger and prouder to defend what is ours”, declared Jović.
Director of the Student’s center “Priština”, Mr. Jovo Popović, thanked the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development for taking care for the health of students and for facilitating the construction of the object and the Office for Kosovo and Metohija which by means of buying the necessary equipment, contributed to the promotion of students healthcare, as well as other citizens who will be able to receive the medical attention in this institution.
Popović said that the teaching staff of the Medical faculty will be employed at the Student’s polyclinic, adding that 30 new accommodation facilities for students will be acquired by opening of the new premises.
Minister of Education, Science and Technological Development, Mr. Mladen Šarčević and Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Mr. Marko Đurić were supposed to open the said Student’s polyclinic today, but they were halted at Jarinje administrative crossing and prevented from visiting Kosovska Mitrovica.
